The Fergie
Tim’s midtown lunch
“Working in Manhattan means you’re surrounded by great food. For years, ordering lunch wasn’t an occasional treat—it was part of my daily routine. With so many delis, sandwich shops, and lunch spots just steps away, I had plenty of options to choose from.
But no matter how many places I tried, I always found myself gravitating back to a great pastrami sandwich. There’s just something about warm pastrami piled high on fresh bread that never gets old—especially in a city that’s famous for doing it right.
That’s what inspired The Fergie. The name is a nod to my last name, Ferguson, and much like the name itself, this sandwich just stuck. It’s my take on a New York City lunch staple and a tribute to the sandwich I’ve ordered more times than I can count—and still do today.
When you order lunch every day, you learn pretty quickly what’s worth coming back for. This was always one of them.”
